Back from the cave

Sort of.

As some of you know I have been trying to go back to school and finish book two and just live life.  Well…….. school is on the back burner for now because ….. I decided to buy a house.

Yup!  As if life wasn’t hectic enough I decided to stop renting and become a property owner.  So the last 6 weeks have been crazy hectic, but as of Friday I can say I am now the proud owner of a beautiful townhouse which will now have a dedicated office I can write in YEAH!!!!

So umm yeah that means book 2 is still not done siiiiigh.  But I hope to get on it soon (I should be all moved in within the next few weeks) so if you can hold on a bit until then – well maybe I can offer you up some teasers 🙂

Terrible blogger checking in …

See I am just a horrible blogger it’s been 2 weeks since my last post, I wish I could say it’s because I have been burning up the screen finishing my book – alas it is not.

It’s been a mixture of real life getting in the way and utter laziness LOL.

Today for my hunky Thursday I say Mahalo to Aussie Alex O’Loughlin.  (did I get that right Raye?)

A little background

Like a lot of writers, my journey to becoming published has been a loooooong one.  I began like a lot of authors, making up stories as a kid and eventually transitioning to fan-fiction before I knew what fan-fiction was.  My first full length story was one based on the Star Wars universe and no, no one has ever read it and no one ever will (yes I still have it).  I was a prolific fan-fic author and sometimes I would get feedback emails about a particular story that asked if I was a “real” writer.  These emails would always make me feel giddy, but I never really thought about pursuing it as a career until one evening a friend told me about a contest a romance magazine was doing for short, erotic stories.  I believe my first reaction was NO WAY.  I was quite comfortable writing pretty sweet post Civil War western themed stories.  Don’t get me wrong, I read them … but I didn’t think I could write those kinds of books.

What’s going on

So here is my little update on what’s going on ….

I’m STILL about 2 chapters from finishing book 2 in the Dark Wolf Series – I just haven’t been able to finish it.  Siiiiigh I want to I reeeeally reeeeeally do, but crap is just getting in the way which leads me to …

I need a new computer … no I need 2 LOL.  Since moving from NY my desktop has been on the fritz – I haven’t used it at all cause it’s sloooower than a turtle with a couple of casts on … so I had to suck it up and write on my laptop – which I hate but I do what I gotta do.  Now my laptop’s battery is completely kaput.  So I needed to get a backup juuuuust in case that one decides to crap out on me.

I have invested in a Dell Inspiron Duo which is reeeally nice (it’s got a flip screen suh-weet) – it’s not going to take the place of my laptop by any means – it doesn’t have the power for that, but at least now I’ll have something strictly for traveling, which is what my laptop was supposed to be for.  It’s a combination netbook and tablet.  I wanted to get an iPad (cause really who doesn’t) but I couldn’t justify paying upwards of $600 for something I wouldn’t be able to write on (anyone who has gotten a mangled text from me from my iPhone would agree).  I have both an iPhone and an iPod touch which are really sufficiant for playing games on and such so an iPad wasn’t really a necessity. It’s Thursday … Thursday … Thursday …

What can I say that Friday song is terrible, but damn it’s catchy.

So today I thought that I would do a hottie post.  All the web is abuzz with talk of HBO’s new series Game of Thrones.  Have you seen it yet?  I have and I will admit that it’s probably my new must see show – it’s my Springtime True Blood.

The show stars lots of “oh-I’ve-seen-them-before” actors.  Most notably, Sean Bean who is fondly remembered as Baromir from Lord of the Rings (and LOTS of other things) in GoT he is seriously channeling Baromir (no complaints from me as he was seriously sexy).  Also starring is Lena Headey who I know from 300.  There’s also a seriously sexy Jason Momoa and to my surprise Harry Lloyd whom I used to watch in the BBC’s Robin Hood (give me a moment to think on actor Richard Armitage … siiiiiigh).
