I know it’s been a bit – but I have been more active on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter so you can follow me there.
Let’s see what’s been going on – well The Second Time Around with the new cover is available in all formats and at all online retailers, but that’s old news. New news is good news. I finally finished the first draft of Beguiled *woohoo* I gave myself a deadline of March 31 and began to write the end of the last chapter on Saturday the 30th at about 10 PM and finishing at about 2:30 AM.
Now comes the fun stuff – rewrites and editing. I feel I’m in a good place though and I hope to have the 2nd draft done by the end of April, 1st week of May so it can go out to beta readers for feedback. I’m hoping to get it to an editor shortly after that.
Oh! There’s also a new logo for this series … What do you think?
It won’t be on the cover of Beguiled – that is reserved for the Common Elements logo – but it will be inside the book. I tried putting it on the cover, but it just made it look a little busy – umm yes, the cover for the book is done I’m just not revealing it for another couple of months LOL.
Meanwhile I am starting to plot out various points for the next book. Originally, I was going to ping pong between this series and a new historical series I have an idea for, but the muse is pushing for the next book in the Boudoirs and Broomsticks saga and I must strike while the iron is hot. There are 3 more planned books for this series bringing it to 4 books and one novella (which you can read now in the Time Out of Darkness Anthology).
I’m also going to journal the process of this next book. I saw someone on Facebook kept a sort of writing journal of her process and I thought maybe if I did that I can work out problems as they come along. I won’t do it on the blog because sometimes it’s a line of this is my word count or these are my ideas, but I may summarize once a week or so. Something to keep me blogging more often as I am TERRIBLE at it.
Lastly, in the midst of all this writing, rewriting, editing, and plotting I am ALSO going to redo my home office/writing cave. I have paint and just need to pack everything up and do it ack! I’ll take pics of the before and after 🙂
I think that’s it for now – wish me luck and I will try to blog again as I begin Bewitched in the next few weeks.
